Perpetrators of Bullying Against Betrand Peto Have Apologized, Ruben Onsu Doesn't Care & Still Reports to the Police

Kapanlagi.com - Several accounts have been reported by Ruben Onsu to the Jakarta Metro Police for bullying Betrand Peto, Ruben's son. Some of them are still children.

However, it seems that Ruben doesn't care. Because by giving a mandate to his legal representative, Minola Sebayang, Ruben still proceeded with the report.

"As I often say, the law does not consider a person's age. Everyone is equal in the eyes of the law, and even Indonesia recognizes juvenile delinquency. So that does not prevent someone who is a child from being held accountable," said Minola Sebayang, Ruben Onsu's legal representative, when met at the Jakarta Metro Police on Thursday (17/12/2020).

1. Someone Has Apologized

In addition to being children, some of the perpetrators of bullying against Betrand Peto, as acknowledged by Minola, have already apologized. "In criminal law, there is no concept of forgiveness. Apologies or reconciliation do not erase the criminal nature, but during the process, we can convey to the investigators that certain individuals have apologized and have been forgiven because this is a complaint offense, and maybe later we can discuss those who have apologized,"

According to Minola, although some of the accused are still children and have apologized, Ruben Onsu has his own considerations for reporting them. "At the very least, this is a legal lesson so that people do not act recklessly even if they are underage. Do not engage in activities that violate the law," said Minola.

2. Report 10 Accounts

As previously reported, Ruben Onsu through Minola Sebayang reported approximately 10 social media accounts to the Jakarta Metro Police on Thursday (17/12/2020).

Among these accounts, the police charged them with different articles, including Article 27 paragraph (3) jo Article 45 of the ITE Law jo Article 310 and 311 jo Article 156 of the Criminal Code.
