In addition to being hit by hoax news of his death, Haji Bolot's family was also disappointed by the circulation of photos of the comedian while undergoing treatment. According to Rico Ceper, the family feels that Haji Bolot's privacy is not being respected during his recovery process.

The family believes that photos showing Haji Bolot in a sick condition and using medical equipment should not be disseminated to the public. "The family is very regretful. 'Please, don’t take pictures of him like that. Mr. Haji is sick, don’t do that,' Rico lamented.

"I also posted that on my Instagram. It's the kids who are talking. So, yeah, just pay attention to people praying, just take the good things from it," said Rico Ceper when met in the Gelora Bung Karno area on Monday (15/6/2026).

According to Rico, the family has never hidden Haji Bolot's health condition. However, they hope the public will maintain ethics and respect the privacy of the patient who is being treated.

"He just regrets that the news is one-sided, yesterday it was reported about the sorrow of his passing. Then there are those who say, if possible, don't show his face. We can blur faces in accidents on the road, right? This face, please don't. The situation is not good either. Just pray for him," he explained.

During the visit to the hospital, Rico admitted he was only focused on providing moral support. He also witnessed how the nurses tried to engage Haji Bolot in interaction to stimulate his motor responses.

"The nurse gave a hand signal, 'Sir, wake up, come on wake up. Mr. Bolot wake up,' with the tube still attached. 'Look, there's Rico Ceper, there's Rico Ceper,' the nurse said. Then he was weak, yes. 'Try to raise your hand, come on. Look, Rico Ceper is waiting at the mirror,' giving a thumbs-up signal," Rico recounted.

He hopes that anyone who visits can be more wise in using social media and not upload photos that could hurt the family's feelings. "'Mpok Ade, is that true? It's not true, right?' 'No, Bang Rico, we were also shocked and regretting,' blah blah blah. It's on my Instagram in my feed. So I posted part of it to help clarify that this family is praying, making efforts, and being gossiped about weird things like that," Rico revealed.

Rico emphasized that what Haji Bolot needs most right now is support and prayers from the community. "Oh, I don’t know, I don’t, I don’t really ask in detail, just came to give motivation," Rico concluded.
