Kapanlagi.com - The trial of the drug abuse case involving defendant Vanessa Angel was held again at the West Jakarta District Court with the agenda of listening to the testimony of witnesses presented by the Public Prosecutor's Office, namely two police officers, Budi Nugroho and Sunardi, on Monday (9/7/2020).
Sunardi, who had the opportunity to be the first witness, told the Panel of Judges about the chronology when he and several colleagues apprehended Vanessa Angel who was in Permata Mediterania, Kembangan, West Jakarta, on March 16, 2020.

At that time, the police successfully seized 20 xanax pills from Vanessa's residence, 15 pills in the vanity table drawer in Vanessa's room, and another 5 pills in Vanessa's bag. According to Sunardi's statement, Vanessa obtained the 5 xanax pills not by buying them, but as a gift from a lawyer named Abdul Malik.
Abdul Malik is a lawyer who assisted Vanessa Angel in her online prostitution case in 2018.
"Where did you get those five (xanax pills)?" the judge asked Sunardi.
"She (Vanessa Angel) said she got them from Abdul Malik," Sunardi replied.

Budi Nugroho, the second witness, added that during the search at Vanessa's house, in addition to seizing 20 xanax pills, he also asked Vanessa to surrender her mobile phone as evidence.
Regarding the mobile phone, Vanessa denied Budi's statement. "My phone was taken when I was at the police station, not at home," Vanessa said when given the opportunity by the judge to comment on the witness's statement.

The statement of witness Budi Nugroho also raised questions from Vanessa's lawyer.
"Based on the testimony of these two witnesses, we actually doubt that the witness can strengthen the accusation. Why? Because one witness stated that the cell phone of the defendant, Vanessa Angel's mother, was given at home, but my client stated that it was given at the police station, and this also becomes a question for us, which one is correct, at home or at the police station," said Arjana Bagaskara, Vanessa's legal representative, after the trial.
Meanwhile, Vanessa Angel refused to provide a statement to the media. She appeared to be in a hurry to leave the court.
