The body of Ibrahim Sjarief Assegaf, husband of Najwa Shihab, was laid to rest at the funeral home in the Jeruk Purut area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (20/5/2025). Several figures and relatives were present to pay their last respects, including Bella Fawzi, who took the time to come after her work activities.
When met at the location, Bella admitted that she felt compelled to come out of respect for Najwa's family, whom she has known for a long time. Read more below!
"My sister may have just come here perhaps before the funeral to pay respects to Mba Nana's family," said Bella Fawzi.
She also mentioned that this moment of mourning made her see firsthand how close the relationship of Najwa Shihab's family is. Their unity was the most striking thing in Bella's mind while at the funeral home.
“Just now when I expressed my condolences inside, Ms. Nana was really well accompanied by her brother, Masya Allah. So the siblings are really very close, Ms. Ela, Ms. Nana,” she said.
According to Bella, togetherness and family support in times like this are valuable lessons. She even compared that condition to her relationship with her younger sister. “I also have a younger sister, that can be an example for me and Chiki. If anything happens, Chiki always has me,” said Bella.
She added that the Quraish Shihab extended family is indeed known to be solid and supportive in various situations.
“I don’t know why, but Abi Quraish is really good at educating his children and his sons-in-law are very close,” he added.
Bella's admiration for Najwa Shihab's family deepened when she witnessed firsthand how they remained strong and supported each other even while facing grief.
