The video was apparently just entertainment content created by Edwin intentionally. He emphasized that he is doing well and that his life is currently quite stable.
Edwin is now busy running a culinary business called “Kopi Tarik Edwin.” The restaurant has rapidly grown and has four branches in Jakarta. Its concept, which promotes a relaxed atmosphere and unique menu, has successfully attracted many customers. This business has become one of Edwin's main sources of income at present.
Before venturing into business, Edwin was widely known as a presenter for various quiz shows on television. His name began to rise when he teamed up with Jody Sumantri, hosting popular entertainment shows in the 90s. He also appeared alongside Tamara Geraldine, making him one of the most recognized presenters at that time.
Over time, Edwin chose to step back from the spotlight of television. Together with Jody, he decided to migrate and get closer to a religious life. This choice kept him away from the entertainment world for quite a while, but it did not stop his creativity and enthusiasm to keep creating.
Beneath his busy life as a businessman, Edwin is also known as a warm family man. He has been married to Lia Novita for 25 years. His wife, who is 10 years younger, often appears in Edwin's social media posts, showcasing the harmony of their household which has been blessed with four children.
The COVID-19 pandemic was a tough test for Edwin. Several of his restaurants serving Acehnese cuisine had to close due to the declining economic conditions. He even had to sell some assets to cover operational needs and pay employees. Despite this, Edwin did not give up and bounced back through a coffee business that is now thriving.Now, Edwin's life has returned to stability. His restaurant business is running smoothly, and he has started to become active again on social media. He often creates humorous content, which also serves as a medium to maintain relationships with his fans.
