Actress Nirina Zubir admitted that she felt insecure when she found out that her weight had drastically increased after experiencing burnout. Nirina revealed that a two-month hiatus caused her to lose control over the healthy lifestyle she usually maintained.

According to her, the weight gain of seven kilograms made her feel unattractive, even feeling like she was no longer desirable.

"Yes, the other day I really felt it, 'Oh my God, I look ugly now, I've gained weight, I'm just not attractive anymore,'" Nirina honestly said during an interview in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/6/2025).

The physical changes occurred when she completely stopped all activities. Nirina admitted that she hadn't touched the working world at all to recover her drained mental condition after completing four consecutive projects.

"I was really totally off, really not doing anything, really at home, really didn't want to meet anyone," she said.

This condition made her reluctant to move. Even her husband's invitation to do some light exercise was declined. "Yeah, but this time I don't know, my body feels like it doesn't want to, even though in the past I would say yes to exercising," she revealed.

While at home, she spent more time with her children and returned to enjoying activities like cooking. She tried making lasagna, chocolate spread, and even mayonnaise herself.

"Thank God at home the kids are really fun, suddenly they say 'mom, can you cook lasagna for me', so I just cooked it," said Nirina.

Although she was comfortable with that routine, Nirina could not deny the feeling of low self-esteem that arose when she saw her appearance in the mirror. She realized her body needed attention again.

"Like, 'can I go back to how I used to be, can I pull my energy back again,'" she reminisced.

Slowly but surely, she began to make peace with herself and started trying to exercise again. She felt her body was beginning to respond better. "Finally from there, thank God my body can be invited to chat 'let's go, it's a new month now'," she said with relief.

Now, Nirina is no longer fixated on her body shape, but rather focused on her fitness and mental health. She is learning to better accept the process and listen to her own body. "What matters is that I can be healthy, can work, and can be happy with the kids," Nirina concluded with a smile.
