Portrait of Rachel Maryam who Once Won the Citra Award as an Actress Now Decides to Become a People's Representative

Rachel first gained public recognition through her role as Lita in the phenomenal film Arisan! (2003). This film was a huge success and made her name popular in the Indonesian film industry.

In addition to ARISAN!, Rachel also starred in various other hit films such as JANJI JONI (2005) and VINA BILANG CINTA (2005), proving her extraordinary talent in the acting world.

Thanks to her role in ARISAN!, Rachel won the Citra Award for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the Indonesian Film Festival, marking the peak of her acting career.

At the height of her popularity as an actress, Rachel decided to venture into the world of politics. She joined the Gerindra Party and was elected as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2009-2014 period.

Thanks to her performance, Rachel was successfully re-elected for the period 2014-2019. This proves the commitment and trust of the community in her figure.

Currently, Rachel serves on Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, which deals with important issues such as defense, foreign relations, intelligence, as well as communication and informatics.

Rachel also raised the issue of data leaks through her Instagram posts during meetings, particularly regarding the importance of digital sovereignty to protect the Indonesian people from threats in the cyber world.

Rachel is also actively advocating for women's aspirations and encouraging broader participation in politics and various other sectors, as seen in her social media posts.
