The atmosphere of emotion and happiness envelops the famous presenter, Ruben Onsu, as he prepares to set foot in the Holy Land for the first time. This moment feels so special, as it marks Ruben's first Umrah journey after he decided to convert to Islam in Ramadan 2025.

Met before his departure at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, on Thursday (28/8/2025), the expression on the face of the former husband of Sarwendah could not hide his emotional turmoil. There is a deep sense of gratitude, along with the nervousness that is naturally felt by a servant who is about to visit the House of Allah.

"Happy, joyful. But if you're too excessively happy, that's not good either. Well, basically this is a blessing that words cannot express," said Ruben Onsu.

This spiritual journey, he admitted, has made him restless for the past few days. He even panicked because he had difficulty finding the guidance video for the pilgrimage that he had saved, so eager was he to prepare himself well.

"Nervous yes, I haven't been able to sleep since two days ago. (Even) So nervous, I got confused looking for the pilgrimage video. Where did it go? I had saved it in my (favorites) gallery," he said.

Behind his nervousness, there is a great prayer that is his main goal in this journey. "I also want to pray that my child's perpetrator can be caught quickly. Because it has been too long. I hope there will be a miracle when I return from Umrah," he said with a hopeful tone.

Interestingly, in the midst of deep spiritual preparation, Ruben is actually very relaxed about worldly matters. There is no excessive costume preparation like a celebrity going on vacation. He admitted he only packed the night before he left.

"I just packed last night at 10 PM. The clothes are not too difficult, just put them in. There’s no special preparation, just relaxed, not matching things like going on vacation, if it doesn't match, wear a sarong, just bring what I have," he said.

On this journey, Ruben is not alone. He is traveling with a fairly large group, including dozens of his employees. Even Hasby Atthallah, the owner of Hamdan Tour, is accompanying Ruben on his first Umrah. "I will accompany him on Umrah, to the Holy Land. We assure him that it will be comfortable there, alhamdulillah he wants to. It's just a family thing," added Hasby Atthallah.
