Eva Celia Reveals Reasons for Wanting to Be Involved in the Film 'IF MOTHER DID NOT MARRY FATHER'

The film IF MOTHER DID NOT MARRY FATHER is set to premiere on September 4, 2025. Eva Celia stars in the film and plays the role of Anis, the first child of three siblings. Anis has two younger sisters, Alin (Amanda Rawless) & Acha (Nayla Purnama).

Anis is portrayed as the child who is most disappointed by her father's behavior. She becomes a witness to her father's 'downfall' and fragility. In a KapanLagi Show session, the daughter of Sophia Latjuba revealed a series of reasons why she wanted to take on this role in the film.

"When I heard the title, I was immediately very interested. So when I was offered this and read the title, I was like oh my god. I think a lot of people can relate and learn a lot from this film. And all this time, we might have seen our mothers & fathers just as parental figures," she said.

According to the 32-year-old woman, this film offers an interesting perspective on the human side of fathers & mothers.

"As children, we might rarely see them as humans who might make mistakes. Who might have life decisions they made in the past. That shaped our family to be like this. It's a very interesting perspective," she continued.

Eva Celia also mentioned that she had been crying since the beginning after reading the script of the film directed by Kuntz Agus. "Coincidentally, I am really a sensitive person, I was already crying from the start," said Eva.

"Sometimes children are too focused on us as children. I mean, we are too focused on our own stories. We forget that there is someone who might be hiding a lot. To protect us, to protect the family," said Eva Celia.

Lastly, Eva mentioned that she fell in love with the character Anis that she played. According to Eva, Anis has a lot in common with herself.

Eva Celia also mentioned that this film raises awareness among children who are too focused on themselves. In fact, the role of parents is very important for the integrity of the family.

"I have really liked and empathized with Anis's character. As the first child, I can relate a lot. And Anis is the first child, so he probably sees his father's process the most. He was also raised in a rather tough environment," concluded Eva.

IF MOTHER DID NOT MARRY FATHER presents an interesting collaboration between senior actors and the younger generation. They are Sha Ine Febriyanti, Bucek Depp, Ariyo Wahab, Amanda Rawles, Eva Celia, Nayla Purnama, Amara Sophie, Sarah Felicia, Debo Andryos, Daniel Rutters, Gaizka Tristan, Indian Akbar, and Bintang Alvarendra Soemardi.
