Project Pop Prepares a Special Moment to Remember the Late Oon at the 30-Year Concert

Project Pop ensures that they will present a special moment to remember the late Oon in the 30-year celebration concert titled Forever Young Forever Fun, which will be held at the Tennis Indoor Senayan, Central Jakarta, on August 8, 2026. Although carrying a concept full of joy, the group wants to pay tribute to a friend who has been an important part of their career journey.

Odie acknowledges that Oon's passing in 2017 was one of the heaviest moments that Project Pop has ever experienced during three decades of work. Nevertheless, Oon's figure is said to still be present in the memories of all the personnel.

"Yes. But perhaps that also answers, losing Oon is the hardest part of our 30-year journey," said Odie in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Friday (10/07/2026).

In response to fans' curiosity, Yosi Mokalu confirmed that Project Pop will not use hologram technology to present the figure of Oon. Instead, they have prepared a tribute concept that is considered more appropriate.

"Finally, we made a decision because we wanted to discuss other things as well, we are not doing a hologram, that is, we are not doing a hologram, but we will indeed display Oon's image there," said Yosi Mokalu.

According to Yosi, this segment has indeed been designed from the beginning as part of the story of Project Pop's journey over 30 years of work. Not only remembering Oon, they will also pay tribute to the crew who have passed away.

"Yes, when it comes to providing a moment to remember Oon, that has been in our plans from the beginning. Definitely. Because, after all, for 30 years in our performance, we have to explain and tell a little about our origins and also his journey," he said.

This moment will be wrapped in a performance of a song specially chosen to make the tribute to Oon and the crew feel more meaningful. "We think there is one song that is most suitable to remember the late Oon. In fact, well, we are treating it this way. We think that, oh yes, it turns out that for 30 years we haven't just lost a person named Oon," concluded Yosi.
