Prosecutor Questions Witness Isa Zega Because He Had Previously Attended the Hearing

According to the regulations, witnesses who are presented should not have attended previous hearings, even if just being in the room. The witness has already been sworn in and is ready to provide testimony from his seat.

"The witness has been seen several times in the courtroom," said Ari Kuswandi, the Public Prosecutor, expressing the objection.

The Chief Judge, Ayun Kristiyanto, asked the public prosecutor about evidence that the witness had been in the courtroom. However, the public prosecutor did not have any evidence ready to present.

Next, the judge asked the witness directly, who claimed to be the one recording the activities of Isa Zega.

"Have you ever entered the courtroom?" asked Ayun.

2. Cannot Be a Witness

The witness admitted to having attended the trial more than once, one of which was during the reading of the charges. However, it was only for a short time inside the courtroom; the rest of the time, they were outside the room and in the cafeteria.

"Yes, during the indictment," he asserted.

Judge Ayun emphasized that the courtroom is also equipped with CCTV that can be accessed. Therefore, Aril Zainal cannot be a witness.

The side of Isa Zega also argued that the witness did not follow the trial fully. The witness also confirmed that they spent more time outside the room and in the cafeteria.

"We will listen to the witness's statement; if it is too subjective, we have the right to not accept the witness's statement," asserted Ayun.

3. Relationship with Isa Zega

Witness Aril Zainal explained his relationship with the defendant Isa Zega. That Isa Zega is known to him as a Talent Management while he himself is a talent.

"If there is a job, I get a job, I get a percentage. When I first joined, there were 4 kids living at the defendant's house that became a base camp," he said.

Aril Zainal was the first person to see the summons for examination from the East Java Police. At that time, the witness had just dropped the defendant off at the airport for his umrah.

"The defendant was going to Medina for umrah. Two people took him to the airport. Coming back from the airport," he said.

He explained that after returning from umrah, Isa Zega went straight to the East Java Police in the first week of December. The witness accompanied him to Surabaya during the examination and was asked by the investigator to calm Isa Zega when he was crying in front of the investigator.
