Raffi Ahmad was one of the guests at the 79th TNI Anniversary event held at Monas, Central Jakarta. At the event, Raffi served as the MC and entertained the audience alongside several artists including Slank, Ariel NOAH, and Ahmad Dhani.
However, Raffi's appearance attracted public attention, as he wore a TNI uniform and a beret specifically used by soldiers assigned to the UN. Raffi's outfit was criticized by members of the Indonesian Parliament and retired TNI generals.
Raffi Ahmad was an invitee and one of the performers at the 79th TNI Anniversary held at Monas, Jakarta on October 5, 2024. At the event, Raffi wore the TNI uniform that is used by the UN.
Raffi wore the uniform with great pride. He also completed his look with a blue beret and his name emblem on his chest.
That day, Raffi performed on stage alongside several famous artists. From the band Slank to Ariel NOAH, who appeared on stage with the TNI generals.
Ahmad Dhani also attended as one of the guests, and Raffi invited the frontman of Dewa 19 to convey birthday wishes to the TNI. They recorded a short video together and Raffi laughed happily.
However, the uniform worn by Raffi has become a public spotlight. Member of the Indonesian Parliament TB Hasanuddin criticized the uniform that is supposed to be specifically worn by TNI personnel assigned to the UN, being worn by ordinary citizens.
"The beret worn is the beret of the UN Forces (United Nations Mission). I question, is Raffi Ahmad currently in training for the United Nations peacekeeping mission, or is he indeed on duty as a TNI soldier for the UN peacekeeping mission?" said TB Hasanuddin as reported by Viva.co.id.
Clothing for TNI members is regulated by the Telegram Letter of the TNI Commander Number: ST/29/2005 dated February 16, 2005, regarding TNI uniforms. In the regulations, it is clearly stated that those entitled to wear TNI official uniforms are active soldiers. Meanwhile, Raffi is not a TNI member.
However, Raffi has not provided any comments regarding the criticism directed at him. He still keeps a photo wearing a TNI uniform on his personal Instagram page.
