Kimberly Ryder Reveals Her Domestic Violence Experience Since the Beginning of Her Marriage to Edward Akbar

"At first, it was more about destroying things. So throwing things around, breaking phones, laptops, cameras, and all sorts of stuff," she added.

When asked about the triggers of Edward's emotions, Kimberly stated that jealousy often becomes the cause. Edward's mood is said by Kimberly to often fluctuate.

"Sometimes it's because of jealousy, sometimes it's just that his mood is unstable. Small things eventually snowball into something big because of him," she explained.  

Kimberly also added that her reaction to Edward's actions often ends up being scolded. "We react to him doing something, and instead, we are the ones who get scolded, you know, we are the ones in the wrong," she said.

On this occasion, Kimberly was accompanied by her attorney, Machi Ahmad, and they filed an official complaint regarding the alleged domestic violence. She visited the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) and the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPPA)

Machi explained that they had submitted a number of pieces of evidence in the form of videos and photos to Komnas Perempuan. "These are the evidences of our complaint that have just been submitted to Komnas Perempuan, it took 2 hours, and the complaint has also been accepted," he said.

The conflict between Kimberly and Edward seems never-ending. In addition to their ongoing divorce process at the Central Jakarta Religious Court, Edward has also recently reported his wife, Kimberly Ryder, to the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI).

This step was taken after allegations of child abuse allegedly committed by Kimberly were revealed. Edward brought the matter to KPAI out of concern for the safety and psychological well-being of their child.
