The first trial of Ratna Sarumpaet's hoax case has just been held at the South Jakarta District Court. This artist and activist must be accountable for the hoax that spread in October. In this trial, Ratna appeared healthy and strong, wearing a white shirt layered with a prisoner's vest.
After being detained for quite some time, the first trial is finally held at the end of February.
Ratna raises her hand and makes a sign with two fingers. This is a gesture commonly used by supporters of presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Uno.
Although admitting her lie, Ratna considers her case to have political implications. "What happened in the field and during the investigation indicates that this is indeed politics," she said.
Ratna Sarumpaet's children came to support their mother. Even Atiqah came to the court and rode in the detainee car with her mother.
Ratna appears healthy and fresh despite having been in detention for approximately four months.
During the trial, there was also a demonstration by the 'Gerakan Anak Bangsa' (Movement of the Nation's Children). They urged Ratna to reveal the masterminds behind the false 'beating' idea.
