Reality Club Cancels Performance at SXSW 2024 to Defend Palestine, Nadin Amizah Regrets Ever Performing

Kapanlagi.com - Reality Club, a music group, recently made a significant decision deserving high appreciation. Fathia Izzati and her team announced their withdrawal from the popular music festival, SXSW 2024, which was planned to be held in Austin, Texas, United States.

Not without reason, Reality Club provided an official statement regarding their decision. From their explanation, it is known that there are several SXSW sponsors and committee members involved in supplying weapons to fight against the Palestinian people.

"This decision was not made lightly and is the result of many considerations and discussions between us and the event organizers," one of Reality Club's Instagram posts stated.

Ironically, SXSW is one of Fathia Izzati's dream music festivals. They were scheduled to perform at a similar event in 2020 but it was canceled due to COVID. 2024 was supposed to be the first performance of the singer of Is It The Answer at SXSW.

"Our conscience tells us that we cannot perform at SXSW Austin on March 14 & 15, 2024. We refuse to be associated with organizations involved in the genocide in Palestine," they continued.

Of course, the decision from Reality Club has invited various positive comments from fans, as well as a series of fellow artists. And there, the figure of a rising singer, Nadin Amizah, also commented. Apparently, the singer of Rayuan Perempuan Gila (Crazy Woman's Charm) regrets having performed at the same event before.

"Swear I just found out!!! I wish I had done more research before performing there," Nadin writes while adding a broken heart emoticon.

As is known, Nadin did indeed perform at SXSW Sydney, Australia at the end of 2023.

A series of other artists and musicians also wrote their respect for Reality Club for the big decision they made. How could they not, they were willing to sacrifice one of their biggest dreams to follow their conscience and defend the Palestinian people who are currently involved in a war conflict.

Some names that were seen giving their support include Atta Halilintar, Vidi Aldiano, Hannah Al Rashid, Dennis Adishwara, Adjis Doaibu, and many others.
