Rendy Samuel Obtains Custody of Child, Access for Shindy Remains Open

Rendy Samuel officially won custody of his only child, Noah, after the divorce ruling was read by the South Jakarta Religious Court on Wednesday (13/8/2026). The panel of judges deemed Rendy more suitable in providing protection and affection to the child.

Although custody has been granted to him, Rendy remains obligated to provide as much access as possible for Shindy Fioerla as the biological mother. He also emphasized that he has no intention of keeping Noah away from his mother, even though their marriage has ended.

"It is determined that the child named Noah is in the custody/hadhanah of the counterclaimant as his biological father, with the obligation to provide access to the biological mother to meet and give affection," said Fazar Nugraha, Rendy Samuel's legal counsel, when met in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (13/8/2026).

1. Judge's Decision and Custody Determination

The court's decision places Noah under the custody of Rendy as the biological father and also the counterclaiming party. This determination is part of the ruling on the divorce case heard at the South Jakarta Religious Court.

In its considerations, the panel of judges assessed that Rendy was deemed more capable of providing protection and affection to the child. The determination also includes an obligation for Rendy to keep the access open for the biological mother to fulfill her affection towards Noah.

Rendy expressed his commitment to maintaining the child's relationship with both parents. He has no intention of limiting Noah's interaction with his mother as long as it does not interfere with the child's primary interests.

2. Evidence and Legal Reasons from Rendy Samuel's Team

Rendy's side stated that they successfully convinced the panel of judges through dozens of pieces of evidence presented during the trial. In the counterclaim (reconvention) submitted, the main focus was directed towards Noah's future and well-being.

"Custody of the child is granted to Mr. Rendy because we managed to prove things that are favorable to Mr. Rendy's position, one of which is related to child support guarantees, school fees, clothing, food, and other needs," explained Reindra Prasta as another member of the legal team.

The emphasis on guaranteeing the child's needs became one of the aspects considered, including fulfilling educational costs and daily necessities. Rendy's legal team placed the best interests of the child as the main foundation throughout the entire trial process.

3. Access for Shindy and Psychological Support for the Child

"If Mother Shindy wants to meet Noah, the door is wide open without any limitations at all, as long as it does not interfere with his school schedule," said Rendy Samuel.

To ensure that Noah's mental condition remains stable during the ongoing legal proceedings, Rendy took Noah to consult with a professional. He is grateful because so far Noah is considered to have a strong mentality and is not affected by the parents' conflict.

"I do not overthink. Noah is a great child, his mentality is good. For the past 4 months, Noah has remained happy, smart, and confident. I also took him to a psychologist and his condition is very healthy," said Rendy Samuel.

Moving forward, Rendy is committed to conveying the family situation in a language that is easy for the child to understand. The goal is for Noah to feel comfortable and able to respond to various dynamics from the surrounding environment.

"I always explain what is actually happening in simple language, so if there is any external conflict that arises, he can neutralize it easily," concluded Rendy Samuel.
