Adam's presence on the occasion also represented his beloved daughter, Gersha Jagwani, who is the Thalassaemia Ambassador. Gersha could not attend at that time because she was continuing her education at UCLA, United States.

"Representing Gersha and giving moral support to them. Thalassaemia patients have to undergo treatment throughout their lives. Therefore, we continue to give encouragement so that they don't get bored and don't give up," said Adam when met not long ago.

1. Visiting 6 Different Hospitals

There are 6 hospitals visited, namely RS Fatmawati, Harapan Bunda, Hermina Jatinegara, Hermina Kemayoran, RSAB Harapan Kita and RSPAD Gatot Soebroto. Adam and his team gave gifts to Thalassaemia patients and continued with the distribution of basic necessities for patients in need.

In addition, Adam also brought several of his colleagues, namely Susan Suzanna, Redian Sutanto, and several other friends. Those who joined for the first time were also not familiar with Thalassaemia.

"Just found out about Thalassaemia. Sad to see them but on the one hand, I salute them for their spirit," said Susan.

2. Maintain Awareness of Thalassaemia

Therefore, Adam and others hope that the community will become more aware of this disease. They are trying to ensure that early examinations can be done to prevent it.

"What we are currently trying to do is to have examination programs done since childhood. If examined early, it can be prevented, because prevention is the only way. Those who have Thalassemia carrier risk should not marry partners who have thalassemia to prevent their children from having the disease," explained Adam.

In addition, Gersha Jagwani is very grateful that although she is currently not in Jakarta, her routine social activities can still continue with the help of many parties. She took the time to make video calls and greet the patients who usually interact with her.

Her plan is to return to Indonesia next June. She will immediately visit a special hospital for Thalassaemia patients in areas outside Jakarta to continue her duties as Thalassaemia Ambassador.
