Revealed! KUA Reveals Jane Shalimar and Arsya Wijaya's Marriage is Not Registered Nationally

Kapanlagi.com - On February 20, 2020, artist Jane Shalimar married a widower named Cecep Adjat Sudrajat alias Arsya Wijaya. Less than a year into their marriage, they became involved in a dispute that resulted in the utterance of the word 'divorce' from the man's side.

In the midst of the process, Jane, who is reportedly planning to file a lawsuit in religious court, a surprising fact emerged. Hamid Dulmajid, the Head of KUA Teluk Jambe Timur, Karawang Regency, West Java, stated that their marriage has not been registered with the government.

1. Still Not Becoming a Widower

The reason for the non-registration of Jane Shalimar and Arsya Wijaya's marriage is because the man has not changed his ID card status to 'widower'. Therefore, the KUA (Office of Religious Affairs) cannot process it.

"The KUA received the documents, but when we validated them, the ID card of Shalimar's prospective husband has not been changed to 'widower', so he is still listed as married. This means that there has been no change in the data. That's why we haven't issued a marriage certificate until this data is resolved," said Hamid Dulmajid, as quoted from a video circulating among the media on Tuesday (5/1/2021).

2. Marriage Documents Have Been Withdrawn

Despite being married until now, Arsya Wijaya has not changed her status in her ID card even though her documents have been withdrawn for the reason of wanting to be fixed. Therefore, the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) does not consider the marriage to have taken place.

"The husband's side withdrew the documents at the Office of Religious Affairs, because they wanted to fix it privately, handle it privately because there were initial data constraints that have not been resolved. In the eyes of the Office of Religious Affairs and formal law, this is not a marriage event because it cannot be proven with a marriage certificate. And the marriage is not yet registered formally at the Office of Religious Affairs," said Hamid Dulmajid.
