Rieke Diah Pitaloka Tells the Chronology of Domestic Violence Experienced by a Woman Named Putri Balqis

She is doing this because she says Putri Balqis herself seems to have trauma when undergoing previous examinations at the Depok Metro Police.

When met at the Jakarta Metro Police, Friday (9/6), the actress who played Oneng in the soap opera Bajaj Bajuri briefly recounted the chronology of domestic violence experienced by Putri Balqis. She also said that actually, the same thing happened in 2016 but at that time the case did not continue because Putri Balqis' husband took Restorative Justice steps.

"I think if the beginning is too long because this is a recurring event, from my side yesterday Balqis called to ask for accompaniment during this examination because there was some kind of trauma when examined at the Depok Metro Police," said Rieke Diah Pitaloka.

"The chronology I conveyed was actually in 2016, Balqis's husband had already been designated as a suspect in a domestic violence case but the case did not continue because her husband did what is called restorative justice," she continued.

Rieke also stated that after the first case in 2016, in February 2023, the argument happened again which led to Domestic Violence. However, after Balqis reported, her husband reported back to the Metro Depok Police so that Putri Balqis became a suspect in the case because she was deemed uncooperative.

"So in February 2023, there was another argument after 2016, and then there was violence as reported. Then, the case of Domestic Violence was reported again to the Metro Depok Police, but two days later, Balqis' husband reported back to the Depok police, and the police suggested restorative justice to start the mediation process, but Balqis refused to attend and was deemed uncooperative, and that's where she was declared a suspect," she said.

Furthermore, Rieke Diah Pitaloka also regretted that Balqis' husband was not arrested based on a doctor's recommendation. Nevertheless, according to the statement of the Director of Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Balqis' husband could be charged with multiple articles.

"Then her husband was not arrested on the recommendation of the doctor. The doctor did not know how to recommend, it is not our authority to convey, but on April 26, 2023, the Director of Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police stated that Balqis' husband could be subject to additional punishment under Article 46 of the Criminal Code, which is a continuing act," she concluded.
