Rina Gunawan Passed Away, Teddy Syach Confused in Communicating with Children Because They Haven't Been Close for Years

Kapanlagi.com - Artist Rina Gunawan took her last breath last Tuesday (2/3/2021) at Pertamina Central Hospital, Simprug area, South Jakarta. She passed away after being exposed to the Corona virus and receiving intensive treatment.

After Rina's passing, Teddy Syach revealed the fact that he wasn't very close to their children named Aqhsal Ilham and Karnisya Rahma. Since they were young, he educated them to be closer to their mother.

1. Sometimes Awkward

"When their mother passed away, I had to learn how to get closer to the children. It was quite difficult and sometimes I felt awkward about what I should do. It seemed too formal. Have you eaten? Have you taken your vitamins? But I still tried," said Teddy when met at his residence in the Bintaro area, South Jakarta, recently.

2. Controlling from Behind Rina Gunawan

Teddy Syach revealed that there was an agreement after he and Rina Gunawan had a child. In the future, Rina will play a bigger role in terms of being a figure and emotional support. Meanwhile, Teddy will monitor from behind his wife.

"Since our children were born, I have always brought them closer to their mother. I want our children to respect, love, and appreciate their mother very much. And as their father, I control them by listening to their mother. So I communicate with them through her. Regarding their activities, what they do, their feelings, whether they are in love or have problems, 99 percent of it is understood by their mother. I control and guide them from behind," said Teddy.

3. Help from the Wife's Cousin

Now that Rina Gunawan has passed away forever, Teddy Syach is trying to build a close relationship with his children. Although this process takes time and cannot be done instantly because distance has been created since decades ago.

"I feel heavy seeing it, but I can't do anything myself. How should I face the children, spoil them, I don't understand. Alhamdulilah, the late cousin came to help. They have a close relationship with the children. If they sing, they sing, but I only observe and analyze. I am still awkward for certain things because I haven't done them for decades," said the 46-year-old man.
