Sandra Dewi Tells Her Childhood Story of Always Wanting to Be Number One

Her mother, Raphael Moeis, admitted that she was an ambitious child. She always wanted to be ranked first in her school.

"When I was little, I always wanted to be number one, to get a ranking. Back then, there was still a ranking system, and I always ranked second. I wondered why I never became number one. So, throughout my school life, I always wanted to be number one. I was always chasing after the person who was number one. That was my life, chasing after the first rank," said Sandra Dewi during a live conference with Lactogrow on Thursday (19/3).

1. Not Parents' Demands

Most ambitious children have reasons because they are always demanded by their parents. But it's different with this beautiful artist, she admits that it is her own desire.

"Even though my parents are relaxed. They never demanded me to be number one in class. While my parents said it's not necessary, not everyone who is the smartest is the most successful and happiest in life. That's the keyword. So from there, I realize that the person who is always number one is not necessarily the happiest," said Harvey Moeis' wife.

2. Not Willing to Demand Children

Considering her childhood experiences, Sandra Dewi admitted that she doesn't want to demand her children to always be number one. For her, the most important thing is that they can live happily.

"Because I have personal experience when I was a child like that. So I never demand my child to be perfect to be number one. Because we as parents are not perfect. We cannot demand our children to be perfect to be number one," she concluded.
