Sandy Reveals the Tos Tradition with Trisno PAS Band on Stage, Now Just a Memory

For decades sharing the stage, the two were closely connected as the rhythm keepers of the band. Simple traditions like the tos became a marker of their togetherness at every performance.

"Bro, he was an honest person. Very honest. If he really liked the stage, he would tos with me. Every time on stage," said Sandy when met in Depok, Saturday (01/08/2026).

Sandy recounted that the work bond built with Trisno remained consistent since he joined. For Sandy, the small moments on stage became an important part of their musical journey.

For Sandy, Trisno is not just a bandmate. He describes their time on stage as a harmonious partnership between the drummer and bassist, which feels united in every performance.

"Especially since I, as a drummer, am paired with the bassist, it’s like a marriage. When I perform, at the moment I play well, he always smiles at me," he said.

The tradition of a high-five also marks the stage atmosphere that Trisno enjoys. Sandy recalls that this moment happens repeatedly, becoming a special signal between them every time they perform.

2. Trisno's Honesty While Performing

Sandy emphasizes one thing that is most closely associated with Trisno: honesty. This attitude is clearly evident when they are on stage, whether the atmosphere is enjoyable or when mistakes occur.

"But if I’m playing incorrectly, he tells me... he gets angry. He gets angry and I know, 'Oh, sorry.' Like that," Sandy revealed.

According to Sandy, the reprimands are delivered directly and firmly when the performance is deemed lacking. This is Trisno's way of maintaining the quality of the band's performance in front of the audience.

3. Tracing Thousands of Stages Since 2000

The togetherness of Sandy and Trisno began when Sandy officially joined PAS Band in 2000. Since then, the two have performed together on various occasions.

"Wow, thousands of stages I’ve done with Trisno. Since the year 2000 when I joined Pas Band, I’ve performed with him. We are in this together," said Sandy while choking back tears.

In addition to stages in the country, their touring experiences also took them abroad, including to Japan. The long span of time and intensity of performances have become an inseparable part of Sandy's memories with Trisno.

4. The Tradition of the High-Five That Is Now Just a Memory

After Trisno's departure, Sandy realized that the atmosphere on stage would never be the same again. The simple gestures that used to always be present are now just memories.

"Unfortunately, no one asks for a high-five anymore when the performance is that great, Kang," said Sandy.

For Sandy, the small high-five in between songs, as they often did every time they performed, has become a memory he will always carry with him every time he performs in front of an audience.
