Sentenced Guilty to Four Months in Prison, Vicky Prasetyo Cries and Hugs Kalina in the Courtroom

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of the defamation case filed by Angel Lelga against the defendant Vicky Prasetyo was held today (8/9/2021). Held at the South Jakarta District Court, the trial agenda was to listen to the verdict from the panel of judges.

Previously, the verdict agenda had been scheduled twice. The first was postponed due to a change in the panel members, and the second was due to the death of Vicky's father.

In the third trial verdict, Vicky was sentenced to four months in prison. This sentence is lighter than the demand for eight months in prison from the Public Prosecutor (JPU).

"Imposing a sentence of four months in prison on the defendant Hendrianto, deducted from the detention period," the panel of judges stated in the trial.

After listening to the verdict in the courtroom, Vicky Prasetyo immediately hugged Kalina Ocktaranny while crying. Unfortunately, after that, the husband and wife chose not to comment. They went straight into the car and did not respond to media questions.

1. Disappointed Judged Guilty

The decision was not immediately accepted by Vicky Prasetyo. After a brief discussion with his legal team in court, he requested seven days to consider whether to appeal or accept the verdict.

"We thank the judges who have given a lower verdict than the Public Prosecutor. We were asked earlier if we would appeal, we are still considering. We will try to decide and think first for the next seven days. Of course, we will consult with the Public Prosecutor regarding the verdict," said Ramdan Alamsyah, Vicky's lawyer.

Vicky Prasetyo expressed disappointment with the verdict because he and his team believe they are not guilty. However, Vicky still accepts whatever decision is delivered.

"If we are disappointed, yes, we are very disappointed. We want our client to not be found guilty. But the judges said otherwise, so we will wait and see what happens in the next seven days. Our struggle is still long," said Ramdhan.
