Shandy Purnamasari Gives Awards to 10 Kartini Versions of 'Perempuan Level Up'

Kapanlagi.com - The struggle of RA Kartini to fight for gender equality in society has been continued by various other great women. One of them is the renowned businesswoman and philanthropist, Shandy Purnamasari, who founded the Perempuan Level Up community coinciding with International Women's Day on March 8, 2022.

Perempuan Level Up is a platform for women to learn for free. And coinciding with Kartini Day on April 21, 2022, Perempuan Level Up gave awards to 10 Kartini versions of Perempuan Level Up.

The awards were given to women from various professions such as midwives, makeup artists, public facility and infrastructure workers (ppsu), TV program writers, housemaids, laundry workers, vegetable sellers, tailors, Quranic teachers, and female online motorcycle taxi drivers.

"We want to give appreciation to those who are valuable and have contributed no matter how small their contributions are, they are still valuable not only for themselves but also for others," said Shandy to the media.

The award ceremony was held at J99 Tower in South Jakarta and was also broadcast live on Instagram @shandypurnamasari & @perempuanlevelup.

Here is a list of 10 Women's Versions of Kartini from Level Up..

1.Rousantya (29 years old) - Midwife
A midwife who works at a private hospital has helped handle more than 500 births. Rousantya has also helped the birth of homeless mothers for free and helped them until the recovery process is complete.

2.Yelis Safitri (30 years old) - TV Program Writer
Yelis is a young woman who works as a writer. For her, the profession of a writer is often overlooked, even though a writer is the backbone of a work.

3.Dwina Aggita Lubis (33 years old) - Make-up Artist
A woman who is called Gita has been involved in the world of make-up for 8 years. In the pandemic era, her job barely produced results, but she remained enthusiastic and pursued her profession and sought new opportunities by opening make-up classes.

4. Tirkem (45 Years Old) - Laundry Worker
Tirkem's mother was originally a warteg entrepreneur who was then hit by the pandemic. Eventually, she continued her life by becoming a laundry worker in her housing complex to support her family.

5. Halimah (60 Years Old) - Tailor
Having been a tailor since 1978, Halimah feels grateful for her talent because she can support her family even since her husband has not had an income for decades. Halimah plays the role of a mother and breadwinner.

6. Eka (31 Years Old) - Online Motorcycle Taxi Driver
Eka is a former government employee who was laid off. He tried his luck as an online motorcycle taxi driver because none of his hundreds of job applications were accepted. Eka feels better off working even though the risks are very high.

7. Sari (46 Years Old) - Housemaid
Sari is a housemaid who supports her family. She feels happy in her role even though she receives some criticism, Sari remains enthusiastic because she has a halal job.

8. Anita (50 Years Old) - Public Facility and Infrastructure Worker
As a single parent, Afifah feels very grateful to still have a job as a PPSU officer. Although tired and exhausted, Anita carries out her duties wholeheartedly.

9. Afifah (50 Years Old) - Vegetable Seller
Afifah has been a vegetable seller for 30 years. She feels often underestimated but nevertheless, this job is the only source of income for her family.

10. Sri Widyastuti (53 years old) - Quran Teacher
A Quran teacher who also works to provide for her family. In addition, Tuti often gives free teaching classes to children around her neighborhood.

Shandy Purnamasari believes that women are strong, tough, and diligent in carrying out their duties and roles. In fact, a woman's role can be layered in one person. For her, the figure of RA Kartini is an example of toughness and a woman whose struggle is apparently very useful and timeless.

With her sincere mission to equip useful knowledge for women, Shandy realizes it one by one through Perempuan Level Up which regularly holds classes and seminars to equip its members.

The variety of classes include: Self-Introduction Class, Basic Business Class, and Social Media Class. In addition, there are also classes held according to members' requests such as makeup classes and many other class designs that will be held regularly in May.
