Kapanlagi.com - Entrepreneur and social media influencer Shella Saukia has now taken serious steps in the conflict with Doctor Detective (Doktif). She has officially appointed senior lawyer Elza Syarief as her legal representative to address the issues occurring in the local skincare industry.

In her statement, Elza Syarief firmly criticized Doktif's actions, which are deemed to exceed the authority of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). She believes that product reviews conducted by Doktif should fall under the jurisdiction of BPOM, not an individual without official capacity.

"This is a person acting beyond BPOM. A person who is unauthorized and has no capacity whatsoever to review someone's skincare," said Elza Syarief at her office in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (22/1/2025).

1. Should Report to BPOM

According to him, if there are problematic skincare or treatment products, they should be reported directly to BPOM, which has special investigators.

"And if, for example, there is a skincare product or any treatment product that violates regulations, it can be reported directly to BPOM. BPOM has special investigators who will process it criminally. So there is no need to turn it into reviews that become a source of income," he emphasized.

2. Reviews Conducted with Clear Standards

Elza also highlighted that reviews of skincare products should be conducted based on clear standards. She questioned whether Doktif has a laboratory, testing methods, and expertise that comply with BPOM procedures.

"They are reviewing, but there should be standards in place. What about the lab, what about the standards, and what about the expertise? There are BPOM procedures for that," she said.

3. Shella and Her Husband Are Victims

Elza emphasized that Shella Saukia and her husband are victims of the reviews conducted by Doktif. She questioned the legal basis of Doktif in conducting product reviews.

"Well, my client, Mrs. Shella Saukia, along with her husband, created a product. This skincare product is a victim of what this so-called Doktif claims. Of course, you all know who this Doktif is. Who is he, does he have permission from the government to conduct reviews?" said Elza.

4. Allegedly Lacks Authority

She emphasized that if Doktif indeed found irregularities in a product, the report should be submitted directly to BPOM, not through social media.

"If he knows there is a crime, he can report it to BPOM. BPOM is the only government agency that has the authority and obligation to regulate treatments, including skincare. This person has no authority and should not be doing that, which leads to defamation," she concluded.
