Shooting Horror Film Damages Carissa Perusset's Hair, Crying and Desperately Cutting It Off

During the production of the movie SURAT DARI KEMATIAN in Yogyakarta, the character's demand required her to have curly hair. Throughout the shooting, her hair had to be instantly curled, which eventually caused damage.

"My character has curly hair, so every time before shooting, it had to be curled. After finishing the shooting and returning to Jakarta, my hair immediately looked like a broom, with split ends, damaged, and it was that bad," Carissa said when met during the gala premiere of SURAT DARI KEMATIAN at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, Monday (6/1/2020).

1. Crying for a Shorter Cut

When she found out that her long hair was damaged, Carissa Perusset could only cry in sadness. So she decided to cut her hair short, not once but twice.

"I cried, and finally I cut it short. Because it turns out it was still damaged, so I cut it even shorter. Cutting it short is a big sacrifice. This is the second time I cut it short, I did it once when I was little," said the 1998-born woman.

2. Boyfriend's Reaction

After cutting her hair short, Carissa Perusset showed it to her boyfriend, Jerome Kurnia. From Jerome's expression, she knew that he didn't really like her new style.

"Well, he was surprised (when he found out about the haircut). But he said, 'Oh, okay, it's different. It's fine if you like it, I like it too.' But I'm sure he's lying," Carissa said with a smile.
