Skinny Body with Prominent Bones, Laura Basuki Dedication for the Film 'SEHIDUP SEMATI'

Kapanlagi.com - Laura Basuki stars in a film titled SEHIDUP SEMATI, a psychological thriller genre. In the movie directed by Upi, Laura plays the character Renata, who becomes a victim of domestic violence.

To bring her character to life, Laura reduces her weight to the point where her bones become prominent. This was her own initiative, which was later approved by Upi.

"The image of Renata being skinny was created in my mind after reading the script. I thought her body progress was like that. Then it was approved by Upi to be intentionally shown," said Laura when met at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said area, on Monday (8/1/2024).

1. Reduce Snacking

In order to appear thin, Laura Basuki does not excessively diet because she still consumes food as usual. However, she intentionally reduces snacks.

"For this film, I lost up to five kilograms. I eat a lot but I don't snack. So, I reduce snacking so that I can have prominent bones in the front and back. I look more fragile, more delicate," said Laura.

2. Many Things Happen Around

Portraying a character of a wife experiencing domestic violence has taught Laura Basuki a lot. Although she has never experienced it, it happens a lot around.

"If I'm asked if I can relate to the character or not, of course, I have never experienced it. But I can understand people like Renata, things that happen a lot around us. Maybe we see it in the news, maybe from close friends who have experienced all of this. This character is far from me, but also very close in one way," Laura explained.
