Starting to Make Peace with Reality, Ikang Fawzi: Memories of Marrisa Haque Become a New Rhythm in My Life

Kapanlagi.com - Senior musician Ikang Fawzi has once again expressed his longing for his wife, Marissa Haque, who passed away on October 2, 2024. Although the loss is very heavy, Ikang is now starting to make peace with reality and is making his wife's memories a part of his new life.

Ikang admits that he often dreams of meeting the deceased. These dreams give him peace as they depict Marissa in a very happy state.

"She is happy, smiling, very beautiful, young in various versions," said Ikang when met in the Jalan Kapten Tendean area, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Monday (10/2/2025).

1. Release the Longing

One of the moments that Ikang remembers most is when he saw Marissa in a dream doing simple activities, like eating durian. According to him, this scene brought back their beautiful memories together.

"Actually, I like eating durian, but I don’t. So she just accompanied me, and suddenly I met her, it was really exciting," said the 63-year-old man.

Ikang also shared how those dreams helped him release his longing. Marissa's presence in his subconscious made him feel calmer and happier.

"Suddenly, the sadness diminished, and I started to feel happy. I want her to be my wife again, I want to kiss her, something like that," he expressed softly.

2. Warm Smile as a Reminder

However, even though he often meets Marissa in dreams, Ikang admits that the communication that occurs is nonverbal. Marissa's warm smile serves as a reminder that his wife is always by his side, even if not in physical form.

"The condition isn’t like that, she just smiles," he said.

3. Part of the Process

Ikang believes that this dream is part of God's process to give him strength. He feels that his wife is still with him, even if only in memory.

"I have to face all of that and go through the process, dealing with time. And eventually, it becomes my new rhythm of life," he explained.

4. Proof of True Love

In addition, Ikang also remembers Marissa as she was when they first met. In his dreams, his wife's face always reminds him of the beautiful times when they started their relationship. "Her face is like when we first met, when we were dating. Yes, that's how it is," he reminisced.

For Ikang, this memory is proof of true love that will never fade. Although Marissa is gone, their love remains alive in the form of sweet memories and prayers. "She is still here, but her physical presence is not. So I have to prepare for her," he revealed.

5. Not a Coincidence

Ikang also feels that these dreams are not a coincidence. Experiences in the real world, like when he enjoys durian with friends, often trigger memories of his wife.

"1-2 days before that, I was also having durian with my friend. So maybe that carried over," he said with a small smile.
