Sued Ardhito Pramono Rp 5.7 Billion, Sony Music Speaks Out

Musician Ardhito Pramono has officially filed a lawsuit against his former label, Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia, at the Central Jakarta District Court. This civil lawsuit worth Rp 5.7 billion was filed over allegations of breach of contract related to the management of song royalties.

This case emerged after claims surfaced regarding the withholding of funds belonging to the singer without a clear basis. The first hearing of this case is scheduled for this week with an agenda to examine the legal standing of both parties.

The Sony Music side attended with a legal team to provide an initial response to the demands of the singer of the song 'Bitterlove'. They emphasized their readiness to follow all stages of the trial that have been scheduled by the panel of judges.

"We will just follow the process," said Margareta when met at the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (27/8/2026).

Margareta Cia, as the legal representative of Sony Music, has not wanted to say much about the details of the song work that is the subject of the lawsuit. The label feels the need to review the internal data of the company before providing an official response in front of the judge.

"Oh (regarding the work) we can't comment on that yet. The issue is that it was his request, we will investigate after following the trial mechanism," said Margareta.

Margareta stated that the technical aspects regarding royalties and song licensing will only be conveyed through an official response at the next trial. "We will all convey later what happens in the trial mechanism," said Margareta.

On the other hand, Ardhito Pramono's lawyer, Adityo Ramadhan, clearly explained the main point that triggered his client's anger. He stated that the label actually acknowledged the existence of royalties belonging to Ardhito, but the money has not been paid.

"Regarding the breach of contract, first, there are royalties that have been acknowledged by Sony but are being withheld. The royalties for the management of Ardhito's songs are being held for reasons that are unfounded according to their version," said Adit.

This issue has escalated due to the discovery of Ardhito's songs being used in several television programs in South Korea. Ardhito claims he never gave permission or received reports regarding the synchronization of his songs abroad. "Because some of Ardhito's songs are used in several TV series in South Korea," said Adit.
