Suspected Victim of Medical Malpractice, Police Have Conducted Examination on the Death of Actress Nanie Darham

Kapanlagi.com - Actress Nanie Darham passed away after undergoing liposuction surgery at a beauty clinic in North Cipete, South Jakarta. South Jakarta Metro Police are currently investigating the alleged medical malpractice that caused the death of the 'AIR TERJUN PENGANTIN' film actress.

Kompol Hendrikus Yossi, Deputy Chief of South Jakarta Metro Police, revealed that the investigators have taken a series of actions, including examining the Crime Scene (TKP) at the clinic and the operating room where Nanie underwent the liposuction procedure.

"When we received the report, we immediately conducted an examination of the Crime Scene at the clinic, including examining the Crime Scene where the liposuction surgery was performed. We also conducted an examination of the CCTV footage and several documents related to the surgery," said Deputy Chief of South Jakarta Metro Police Kompol Hendrikus Yossi on Friday (24/11/2023).

1. Check 11 Witnesses

Furthermore, Yossi mentioned that 11 witnesses from the clinic, including doctors and nurses involved in the operation, as well as registration officer Nanie, have been examined by the authorities.

"Then several nurses who were also in the clinic, both directly involved in the operation activities and those who received the victim's registration. We have also examined the victim's family," said Yossi.

2. Further Examination

Next, the police will examine the ambulance officer, who had taken Nanie to the hospital. Including the emergency room medical staff at the hospital, who had provided assistance to Nanie.

"We will conduct an examination of the medical staff from the ambulance who provided assistance and transported the victim to the hospital on the day of the incident. We will also conduct an examination of the hospital staff who provided assistance in the emergency room," he said.

3. Gandeng IDI

The police have also coordinated with the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) to obtain expert testimony related to this malpractice case.

"We have also coordinated with the Medical Association to conduct an examination as an expert on the incident," Yossi concluded.
