The Family's Tears Accompany the Burial of Ray Sahetapy, Dewi Yull Loyal at the Grave

Kapanlagi.com - Senior actor Ray Sahetapy has been buried at the Public Cemetery (TPU) Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta, on Friday (4/4/2025). The burial was emotional, filled with the tears of family and close relatives.

Ray's body was previously laid to rest at the RSPAD Gatot Subroto Funeral Home for three days and was prayed over at the Istiqlal Mosque after Friday prayers. The funeral procession arrived at TPU Tanah Kusir around 1:30 PM WIB, accompanied by Ray Sahetapy's three sons who also carried their father's coffin to the grave.

Rama Sahetapy, Ray's second son, was seen descending into the grave to escort his father to his final resting place. He also recited the call to prayer over the grave of the deceased with a trembling voice.

After the ceremony, Rama was seen crying in the embrace of his mother, Dewi Yull, who faithfully sat beside the grave.

"As the second son, I represent my siblings to express our gratitude for the support and encouragement. I deeply apologize if during his lifetime, the deceased ever made mistakes or did something unpleasant in the heart. Please forgive him, whether intentional or not," said Rama Sahetapy.

During the ceremony, rain and thunder poured over the burial area, but it did not deter the mourners from paying their last respects. Tears and warm embraces enveloped the burial of the legendary figure of the performing arts from our homeland.

"While the deceased was laid to rest, many said he was a good person. As a child, he was a good father. As a grandfather, he was extraordinary and loved his grandchildren very much. I ask for prayers so that the deceased may have Husnul Khatimah," continued Rama.

Ray Sahetapy passed away on Tuesday (1/4/2025) at RSPAD Gatot Subroto after undergoing treatment for a month. The actor, born in 1957, was diagnosed with diabetes since 2017 and suffered a stroke in 2023. Since then, Ray had not been active in the acting world.

The funeral proceedings concluded with flower scattering by family, relatives, and attendees. Amid the pouring rain, the atmosphere of mourning was deeply felt.

The love and respect for Ray Sahetapy were evident from the many people who came to bid farewell to the maestro of acting at his final resting place.
