The Loss of Titiek Puspa, Kris Dayanti Reveals Her Last Conversation with the Deceased

Kapanlagi.com - Singer Kris Dayanti came to the wake to pay her last respects to Titiek Puspa in the Pancoran area, South Jakarta, Thursday (10/4/2025). She feels that the departure of the figure she calls Mami has left a deep wound in the music world.

"Of course, everyone is here to offer condolences and pay their last respects to Mami Titiek, a music legend of the homeland who has closed her stage curtain in a truly extraordinary way," said Kris Dayanti when met in the Pancoran area, South Jakarta, Thursday (10/4/2025).

The woman affectionately known as KD admitted that she feels a great loss for someone she considered like her own mother. She feels grateful to be able to bid farewell to Mami Titiek in person with the family.

"We are very lost, we are grateful to be able to say goodbye in person to the late Mami Titiek this afternoon at 16:25, leaving us all," she said.

As a singer who is also involved in politics, Kris Dayanti has often looked up to Titiek Puspa as a role model. She hopes everyone can pray for and continue the struggle of the deceased.

"And we all hope to be able to pray for Mami Titiek, may her legacy in the music world continue for us," she explained.

1. Talking About Many Things

KD reminisces about how Mami Titiek was always active and attentive to various matters, including the world of music and politics. She said that communication with the late Mami was almost always long and warm.

"It was truly extraordinary. Whatever happened in the homeland, whether it was music or politics, she would call immediately and the conversations were never short, definitely over 10 minutes," she revealed.

Their conversations always expanded to many topics, showing how much the late Mami cared for the homeland. KD feels fortunate to have been part of the close circle of a great figure like Titiek Puspa.

"Talking about anything, music, the future, whatever, any political events in the homeland, she was very concerned," she said.

As the next generation, Krisdayanti feels called to continue Mami Titiek's spirit and aspirations in the arts. She believes that the legacy of work left behind must not stop.

"So hopefully all of us who are left can continue her aspirations for Indonesian music to be even greater," she concluded.

2. Last Conversation

He last spoke with the late one about a month before their passing. Although it was only over the phone, the conversation left a lasting impression on his heart.

During that conversation, Mami Titiek conveyed a moral message that he continues to remember to this day. For KD, it became a lesson he will always hold on to.

"The last call, yes, the last call was probably a month ago. I remember during the election, he always reminded me to keep in mind to work with integrity, that's all," he concluded.
