The Minister of Health States That BPJS Health Contributions Will Increase in 2026, Future Healing Savings Are Set to Decrease

Kapanlagi.com - Unpleasant news comes from BPJS. Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin hinted that BPJS Health contributions are likely to undergo adjustments in 2026. But, hold on! The Minister assures that the current financial condition of BPJS Health is still safe and sufficient to fund health services until 2025.

"I have already told BPJS, if our calculations with Mrs. Minister of Finance indicate that 2025 should be safe. In 2026, there may need to be an adjustment in the rates. I asked for his time later when the calculations are accurate to meet with Mrs. Minister of Finance to explain," Budi Gunadi explained to the media at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/2).

1. Current BPJS Health Contribution

For your information, the current BPJS Health contribution for independent participants (Non-Wage Earners/PBPU) is still applicable with the following details:

BPJS Health Class 1: Rp150,000 per month

BPJS Health Class 2: Rp100,000 per month

BPJS Health Class 3: Rp35,000 per month

2. Exact Increase Figure Not Yet Certain

Although there is a possibility of a rate increase, Budi Gunadi Sadikin emphasized that the exact figure for the adjustment of BPJS Health contributions is still under discussion. This decision will still be discussed further with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and BPJS Health. So, for now, there is no official figure announced.

"Not yet, there is no figure yet. That's why I need to meet with him but I've been given a time later with Mrs. Ani (Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani)," said Budi.

3. States No Relation to the Implementation of Standard Inpatient Class

Although there have been many rumors lately about the increase in BPJS Kesehatan contributions linked to the implementation of the Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS). However, Minister of Health Budi denied the issue.

"No, no, no relation to KRIS," he asserted.

On the other hand, the President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Ali Ghufron Mukti, also explained that the financial condition of BPJS Kesehatan is still 'healthy', despite the risk of a deficit. Moreover, with the number of BPJS Kesehatan service users increasing to 1.7 million people per day, it becomes a reason for the deficit risk. However, Ghufron assured that BPJS Kesehatan will continue to make payments to hospitals in 2025.
