The Reason Badai Does Not Want to Reunite Kerispatih, Says He Wants to Make Himself Happy After 26 Years of Working

The idea of a reunion for Kerispatih with the original lineup seems to be far from the hopes of fans. Musician and songwriter Doadibadai Hollo, or Badai, firmly stated that for now, a reunion is not an option he wants to take, despite the many requests from the Mahapatih, the term for Kerispatih fans.

According to him, this decision is based on a strong personal principle and the desire to focus on the future. The keyboardist feels that a reunion would not have a very positive impact on his current career journey. Here are the details.

"I do see this reunion as not really a good thing for me," said Badai when met in the Fatmawati area of South Jakarta, Monday (28/7/2025).

Furthermore, the 47-year-old man explained that he has plans and steps he wants to realize moving forward. "I have steps to take that are not just about thinking of the past, you know. So I want to move forward with what I have in mind," he explained.

This decision also serves as a moment of reflection for Badai after 26 years in the Indonesian music industry. "I realize that during my 26 years of career in the music industry, I have been too focused on pleasing others, but I have never made myself happy," he said.

Therefore, the refusal to reunite becomes a kind of gift or reward for himself. "I choose to think about myself first. Once in a while, I give myself a reward for not always catering to others' wishes. Because I know they always want to be lulled by the past, right? Well, in my opinion, that's not too good for me," said Badai.

Another reason that makes him reluctant is the potential for long-lasting problems. Badai feels he has spoken up often enough, but if there is no mutual understanding from the other party, he prefers to remain silent and avoid.

"I know the potential for this problem will lead to prolonged discussions. If the person doesn't understand, should I force it? So I choose to remain silent and I choose to avoid and no longer want to be part of the same community," he asserted.

In the end, Badai revealed that material wealth was not his benchmark in making this decision. Although offers with fantastic values have come, for him, happiness and resolving issues with wisdom are far more valuable.

"Once again, I am not a rich person. But for this matter, money is not my benchmark. I want everything to be done with wisdom. And that is what I have not found until today," he concluded.
