However, his changed appearance was actually related to a film project he was working on. Aming is currently studying the character Sumanto in a film. He is observing the life of the character he portrays.
"At that time I was observing the character of Sumanto. So Sumanto ended up at the An-Nur Foundation. The foundation is like drug rehabilitation, a more humane approach, and also a boarding school," he revealed.

"Ming, be a judge for the Quran recitation competition. Huh? I feel like, do you mean I become a judge for the Quran recitation competition? I can barely recite, just one verse. I have to judge people reciting like 'no way'. So I felt that it wasn't suitable for my capacity at that time," he revealed.

After much speculation regarding his change in appearance, Aming finally explained that it was all just to delve into a role in a film. The different appearance became part of Aming's observation as he was involved in a film about Sumanto.
"I couldn't hold it in anymore. That's why I had to speak up, because it felt like a (burden). Because it's a religious issue, it's scary, right? It's not something to play with, so I just spilled it now," Aming emphasized.
