Kapanlagi.com - Young artist Syifa Hadju shows a high level of concern for health issues, particularly breast cancer. Her experience of having an aunt who fought against breast cancer serves as the main background for her concern.

Through this experience, Syifa feels it is important to spread awareness about the early detection of breast cancer, so that the younger generation can be more sensitive and understand their health conditions.

At an educational event about breast cancer organized by the Charm sanitary pad brand from Unicharm, in collaboration with the Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation (YKPI), Syifa invited over 400 female students from various junior high and high schools in Jakarta to learn more about the self-examination campaign or SADARI.

“As young Indonesian women, I always care about various social issues, including health issues,” said Syifa at the Command Hall, East Jakarta, Wednesday (10/2/2024).

1. Personal Experience

Syifa's concern for breast cancer health is closely tied to her personal story. Her aunt, who was diagnosed with breast cancer while working as a diplomat in Germany, passed away due to the disease. Since then, Syifa has become increasingly familiar with everything related to breast cancer.

"That was the point where I became aware of breast cancer. At that time, I was still a child. So my family had already been aware, teaching SADARI since I was little, we had to check, they already knew the movements because of that incident," concluded Syifa," she said.

2. Interactive Moment

Linda Agum Gumelar, the founder of YKPI, also revealed that the collaboration with Charm began in 2021. The vision of this collaboration is to protect Indonesian women from the risk of breast cancer.

“In this event, we not only teach how to perform self-examinations but also answer questions from the students through a talk show. We hope this activity can provide a basic understanding of breast cancer as well as tips for early detection,” Linda explained.

3. Involve Hundreds of Female Students

Sri Haryani, Director of PT Uni-Charm Indonesia Tbk, added that this activity involves more than 400 female students from various schools in Jakarta.

“Through education from experts on early detection of breast cancer, we hope to contribute to the Government's efforts in protecting the future generation,” said Sri.
