According to Herlangga Wisnu's testimony, Catherine Wilson faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and a fine of Rp 1 billion. This is based on Article 114 paragraph 1 together with Article 132 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.

However, the Public Prosecutor's Office (JPU) also uses alternative articles. Therefore, the threat of punishment will vary.

"Article 112 paragraph 1 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics together with Article 132 carries a maximum penalty of 12 years and a minimum of 4 years. Then there is also Article 127 paragraph 1a together with Article 132 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a maximum penalty of 4 years," explained Herlangga Wisnu.

Previously, Catherine Wilson was caught by authorities at her residence in the Cinere area, Depok on Friday, July 17, 2020. From the arrest, the police found two packages of methamphetamine stored in small plastic bags, one weighing 0.66 grams, while the other weighed more than 1 gram.
