Trauma from Toxic Relationships, Dinar Candy Chooses to Marry at Age 40

The success of her career and stable financial condition apparently have not made Dinar Candy rush into marriage. Behind her current achievements, Dinar admits to still harboring trauma from past romantic experiences.

According to Dinar, mental health is currently her top priority in life. She also admits to often seeing various cases of infidelity, which makes her more cautious about taking steps toward marriage.

"Right now, I prioritize my mental health. I often see cases of infidelity on social media, which creates a specific fear of moving towards marriage," said Dinar Candy when met in BSD, South Tangerang, Friday (19/6/2026).

In addition to her worries about infidelity, Dinar also admits to having been in a relationship that was too controlling. That experience left her with trauma, making her more selective in forming relationships now.

"I feel trauma from the past because I was in a very controlling relationship without getting what I wanted. We were friends in a healthy way without a controlling relationship," she revealed.

Although her parents have asked several times about her wedding plans, Dinar chooses to focus on building her career and future first.

"Dad and Mom often share their thoughts. They feel like they frequently attend other people's wedding invitations and ask when it's their child's turn to get married. I told them to be patient because their child is a career woman," she said.

Dinar also emphasized that her closeness with Resul Sil is currently still casual. She does not have plans to take the relationship to a more serious level in the near future.

The 33-year-old dangdut singer even has her own targets regarding her personal life. She admitted that she wants to have two children and does not rule out the possibility of getting married at a more mature age.

"The target might be when I'm 38 or 40 years old, I want to have two children. As for marriage, I'll take it easy for now. At this moment, I just want to go with the flow. If I happen to meet my soulmate sooner and feel compatible, of course, I'm open to it," she stated.

Dinar hopes the public can understand her choice not to rush into marriage. For her, happiness is not always measured by marital status, but also by comfort and peace in living life. "I even encouraged my younger siblings to get married first, but they don't want to and want to succeed like their older sister did. So, all the benchmarks are on me," concluded Dinar.
