Verrell Bramasta Responds to News of Alleged Phone Use During DPR Meeting: Not Playing a Game

Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PAN faction, Verrell Bramasta, speaks out regarding news accusing him of using his phone during a meeting. In a written statement, Verrell expressed regret over the media's lack of effort to clarify before the news was broadcast.

“That moment was when I was searching for material on my phone during a Lemhanas activity. I was not using my phone to play games or anything else. So it is very unfortunate if there are media outlets reporting without verifying the truth. It gives the impression of provoking,” Verrell stated firmly.

However, Verrell expressed a deeper concern. He feels sad when his supporters are also affected by the news.   “That is something I cannot tolerate. Because for me, freedom of expression does not mean freedom to bully,” he added.
