Regarding this, Kimberly explained the reasons they chose to give birth with a midwife. It turns out that the decision was also influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic that struck.
"Yes, that (photo of giving birth with a midwife) I want to clarify, because at that time I was (giving birth) to the second child," Kimberly Ryder said when met after mediation at the Central Jakarta Religious Court, Wednesday (14/8).
"The first child was indeed born in England at a hospital there, and that was just before Covid for the first child. So it was really purely a midwife," she added.
When asked further, Kimberly stated that at that time, Edward had actually offered the option to give birth with a midwife. Kimberly admitted that she had no problem delivering there.
"If I'm not mistaken, Edward also suggested why not just give birth with a midwife. I thought about it, and I guess it could work, what's wrong with that, right? Many people give birth with midwives and it's safe," she said.
In addition, the star of the film 'BANGSAL ISOLASI' ensures it is safe for her to give birth with a midwife. She also believes it is perfectly fine for her to choose to give birth with a midwife or in a hospital with a doctor's care.
"So since then, I respect midwives in Indonesia," she said.
"It's confusing too, because I don't want to differentiate myself from Indonesian citizens like everyone else. So we just live together, facing our struggles," she concluded.
