Viral on Twitter, Here's the Timeline of Sexual Harassment Experienced by Mian Tiara

Kapanlagi.com - Singer and actress Mian Tiara became the talk of the town among netizens after revealing the sexual harassment she experienced. The lead vocalist of Simak Dialog created a long thread on Twitter on Thursday (23/1/2020) about the incident.

In her writing, Tiara admitted to being harassed by one of the senior actors in the country. She also explained in detail the chronology of the case.

1. Holding Thighs

The unpleasant incident started when Tiara helped one of her colleagues with their final project. She became an actor in her colleague's short film along with several other actors and actresses. It was during the shooting process that Tiara received treatment that she deemed inappropriate.

Mia revealed that the unnamed senior actor began touching her thigh when they were both in the dressing room.

"We continued our conversation. At that time, it was just the two of us in the dressing room. I sat next to him and listened to his story. Suddenly, he turned his chair towards me and casually stroked my thigh. I was shocked but couldn't react," Tiara wrote on her personal Twitter account @miantiara.

2. Other Acts of Harassment

Feeling uncomfortable, Tiara decided to keep her distance from the actor. However, during a photo session with the other cast members, Tiara was forced to stand beside the actor again and she once again experienced harassment from him.

"Finally, he stood beside me. The senior actor put his finger on the edge of my jeans and held on tightly while resting his hand on my pants. I felt disgusted, angry, violated by his actions," she added.

3. Express on Social Media

Tiara expressed that her reason for revealing the incident on social media was to prevent similar occurrences from happening again and to protect other women. Tiara's manager, Abbe Rahman, stated that Tiara took this step to encourage victims to speak up about the harassment they have experienced and to prevent this from happening again.

"One possible reason for her posting on social media is to prevent the same thing from happening to other actors/actresses. Not all victims of harassment are brave enough to speak up, there are many factors," said Abbe when contacted via WhatsApp on Friday (24/1/2020).
