Viral Orphan Teen Steals Bananas for Sibling, Gus Miftah Provides Assistance of Millions and Scholarships

The actions of the teenager with the initials AAP (17) went viral after a video showing him being stripped and paraded by locals spread widely on social media.

“I felt compelled to act after seeing that viral video. An orphan stealing to support his sibling is a reflection of a heartbreaking reality. Such things should not happen in this country,” said Dwi Yudha Danu, representing Gus Miftah, when contacted by the media on Saturday (22/2/2025).

Through his team, Gus Miftah provided financial assistance in the form of tens of millions of rupiah for AAP and his brother's living needs. In addition, educational scholarships up to university level have also been prepared to ensure they have a better future.

“We provide assistance in the form of money and ensure they receive a decent education. The exact budget cannot be specified, but this scholarship will help them until they graduate from university,” explained Dwi Yudha Danu.

"And the older brother has dropped out of school; he said he wants to continue at the Pesantren Ora Aji, owned by Gus Miftah. We will also help him until he graduates," he added.
