Recently, there has been a viral rumor that the PAUD Cahaya Permata Abadi school owned by Yuni Shara in Batu City only charges a tuition fee of Rp3,500 to its students. Yuni's kindness has been widely praised by netizens across Indonesia.
However, it turns out that the tuition fee of that amount is an administrative fee from several years ago. According to a report from Merdeka.com, the PAUD Cahaya Abadi, represented by Dewi Hidayati, clarified that the tuition fee is no longer Rp3,500.
For several years, Yuni Shara has been running an early childhood education school in Batu City, East Java. She named the school Cahaya Permata Abadi and opened it to the public.
Recently, it went viral that Yuni's school only charges a tuition fee of Rp3,500 per month, which can be replaced with vegetables and fruits. However, this was clarified by the PAUD representative, Dewi Hidayati.
In an interview with Merdeka.com, Dewi stated that it is true that PAUD Cahaya Permata Abadi once charged a tuition fee of Rp3,500, but that was several years ago. Now, the tuition fee at that PAUD has changed to Rp250,000 per month.
However, Yuni's school implements a cross-subsidy system. So, children from underprivileged families can still attend school there for free. “There are still children from low-income families, and the school is free provided they show a certificate of financial incapacity,” explained Dewi.
Dewi stated that Yuni wants this school to be able to operate independently. The fees charged to students have also been consulted and approved by Yuni.
Currently, the admission fee for regular students at PAUD Cahaya Permata Abadi is Rp50,000 for registration, Rp2,200,000 for building maintenance fees, Rp800,000 for 4 sets of uniforms, Rp350,000 for learning tools for one year, Rp100,000 for children's report books, Rp1,000,000 for activity funds for one year, and monthly tuition fees of Rp250,000. This fee does not include field trips and extracurricular activities.
