Visiting Medina Zein at Pondok Bambu Penitentiary, Marisya Icha: I Initiated the Conversation

Marisya admitted feeling awkward initially when meeting Medina Zein at Pondok Bambu Penitentiary. Their recent meeting occurred during Medina's trial for Marisya Icha's report.

"It was a bit awkward. Medina was also silent at first, not knowing what to say. Eventually, I initiated the conversation. What's certain is that Medina apologized first, and there is also a police report that needs to be followed up. Currently, Medina is undergoing my first police report," said Marisya Icha at Pondok Bambu Penitentiary in East Jakarta on Friday (5/1/2024).

Marisya also mentioned that, although Medina is currently undergoing a police report filed by her, there is an opportunity for both of them to forgive and strengthen each other. Marisya shared advice to Medina to engage in remembrance of God (dzikir) and strive to maintain consistency in doing so.

"Everyone experiences difficult times, I told Medina that if there is no one to help, there is no way out, there is one thing you can do now, I hope you can be consistent. I taught Tasi (Medina) various remembrance of God, I hope you can be steadfast," said Marisya Icha.

2. Forgiving

Marisya also emphasized that she has forgiven Medina, in accordance with her religious teachings. Regardless of the ongoing legal process, Marisya emphasizes the importance of humanity and forgiveness.

"If we forgive as humans, and in Islam, we must learn to forgive. It will definitely be forgiven, the law still applies," said Marisya Icha.

In addition to providing moral support, Marisya Icha also brought gifts for Medina in prison. Ranging from food, skincare products, to shoes to support Medina's passion for playing volleyball.

"She enjoys playing volleyball. She said she didn't have shoes, so we bought her shoes," concluded Marisya Icha.
