Want to Have a House in Heaven, Dorce Gamalama Builds a Mosque and Provides for 1000 Orphans

During his lifetime, Dorce Gamalama was known as one of the celebrities who was very generous. How not, the artist born in Solok was very active in social activities and helping others during his lifetime.

In addition, Dorce also established a foundation and a place of worship. Dorce had built a mosque in the Lubang Buaya area of East Jakarta in 2008, named Masjid Al Hayyu 63. Ustaz Faiz, who is also a relative of Dorce, still remembers well when the presenter intended to build a mosque.

"He wanted to build the house of Allah because he had a belief through the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad which states that whoever builds the house of Allah in the world, then he will be built a palace in heaven on the Day of Judgment," said Ustaz Faiz at TPU Bantar Jati, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (16/2/2022).

"So from that hadith, that's why he was enthusiastic about building the mosque more than 10 years ago," added Ustaz Faiz.

2. Mosque for the Public

Ustaz Faiz said that the mosque built by Dorce is not for himself. Instead, the mosque is built for the public.

"The mosque is dedicated not for himself, but indeed for the public. He even said that this mosque is not mine, but it exists only because of his contribution," said Ustaz Faiz.

3. Dorce's Will

During his lifetime, Dorce also gave a will, that if he passed away, he wanted to be buried in that mosque.

"He always made a will and communicated with me. He always said that when I'm gone, if possible, I should be buried there. He has also prepared his own burial shroud," he said.

4. 1000 Orphans

As a close relative, Ustaz Faiz is proud of Dorce Gamalama, who is known as one of the generous artists and always helps many people.

"(He said) 'I don't have many orphans, only a thousand', but one thing that makes me proud of his departure. Before leaving, he visited a pesantren in Ciamis, where he studied to recite the zikir lailahailallah as a daily practice," concluded Ustaz Faiz.
