The divorce process of comedian Bedu with his wife, Anggie, continues at the South Jakarta Religious Court. However, there is an interesting fact from the two hearings that have been held: the respondent or Anggie has never shown her face at all.

Anggie's absence, who was also not represented by a lawyer, has caused the mediation process, which should have been the main agenda, to be delayed. This was revealed by Bedu's lawyer, Dendy Finsa, after the second hearing.

"Our client, Bedu, (was represented), but today it turns out that the summons from yesterday has been deemed sufficient by the court, the respondent did not attend," said Dendy Finsa when met at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Tuesday (14/10/2025).

This is the second time Anggie has skipped the court summons. If she is absent again at the next hearing, this divorce process may potentially be decided in absentia or a verdict without the presence of the defendant.

Bedu's attorney explained that the panel of judges is giving Anggie one more opportunity.

Mediation will be attempted if Anggie attends the hearing on October 28. However, if Anggie is absent again, the hearing will immediately proceed to the evidence agenda.

"On the 28th, if the respondent is present, mediation will be conducted. But if she is absent, the next agenda will be evidence and witnesses," he explained.

Anggie's seemingly unresisting attitude raises questions. However, this might align with the fact that her communication with Bedu remains good, indicating that this separation may be a mutual agreement.

Bedu himself was also unable to attend the second hearing due to work matters and was fully represented by his legal team.

Now, the fate of Bedu and Anggie's marriage will greatly depend on the presence of the wife at the upcoming third hearing.
