Yusuf Mansur Still on a Preaching Safari, Mediation Hearing with 3 Migrant Workers Postponed

Kapanlagi.com - The Tangerang District Court judge postponed the mediation hearing of the alleged unlawful act case involving Ustaz Yusuf Mansur against the lawsuit filed by 3 Indonesian Workers in the hearing held on Tuesday (8/2/2022).

The postponement was due to the principal of the plaintiff and defendant who were required to attend the courtroom but were unable to come.

"The three plaintiffs planned to attend, but suddenly there's this PPKM, so they're worried. UYM as the defendant also did not attend because of duties. There was a letter, so they didn't attend. Only the legal representative attended. Finally, it was agreed to postpone the hearing for 2 weeks," said Asfa Davy Bya, the plaintiff's legal representative at the Tangerang District Court on Tuesday (8/2/2022).

Asfa Davy's statement was confirmed by Ariel Mochtar, who is the legal representative of Ustaz, also known as UYM. Ariel said that UYM could not attend because he was on a dakwah safari in Kalimantan.

"Because he is on a dakwah safari in Kalimantan from the 1st to the 15th, so he cannot attend. We have already informed the judge," said Ariel Mochtar.

For the next hearing, both Asfa Davy and Ariel Mochtar stated that they will make efforts to ensure the presence of their respective clients in the courtroom. This is because the mediation hearing is crucial and requires the presence of the plaintiff and defendant's principals.

"We will make efforts to bring the principal because the principal is required to attend this mediation," said Asfa Davy.

"We will try our best. But we don't know yet if he (UYM) can attend or not. Because we don't know if there will be another (dakwah) schedule or not. Besides, we haven't contacted him yet," said Ariel Mochtar.

According to Asfa Davy, if the principal cannot attend the next hearing on February 22, it is certain that mediation will reach a deadlock and will continue to the main hearing.

"If there is a sufficient and valid reason for the principals not to attend, then it will proceed and enter the main case. The mediator will report to the panel of judges for further proceedings, which means that no agreement is reached in the mediation," he said.

4. Land Investment Fund

Previously reported, the three Indonesian Workers (TKI) in Hong Kong, namely Suratih, Aida Alamsyah, and Yeni Rachmawati, have been participating in the land investment fund since 2014.

At that time, they were interested in participating in the program after being offered by Ustaz Yusuf Mansur during a religious lecture in Hong Kong.

At that time, each of the three defendants invested around Rp 5 million for joint land purchases at a price of Rp 2.2 million per square meter. To participate in the land investment fund, they were required to register as members of the Merah Putih cooperative, which charged a fee of Rp 200,000.

However, since being registered as investors in the land fund investment, the three of them have not received any news regarding the clarity of the land fund investment program.
