Zaskia Adya Mecca Takes 5 Children on a Motorcycle, Panics When Gas Runs Out

Kapanlagi.com - Zaskia Adya Mecca shared her nerve-wracking experience of taking her five children to school on a motorcycle. This routine is carried out every day with her husband, Hanung Bramantyo, with a division of vehicles to ensure all the children arrive on time.

"Yes, it was really nerve-wracking. Coincidentally, I take the kids to school every day on a motorcycle. And since there are 5 kids, we need 4 motorcycles," said Zaskia Adya Mecca when met in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (21/7/2026).

The story began when she got the last motorcycle to take the children. In the middle of the journey, the gas indicator on the motorcycle she was riding started blinking, making her anxious.

1. Nervous on the Road When the Gas Indicator Blinks

Zaskia admitted that she panicked when the gas indicator light on her motorcycle blinked in the middle of the road. She chose to reduce her speed and drive more carefully until she reached her destination.

"I was really slow and careful, because when you're driving a car and the gas is about to run out, it usually means you have about 5 kilometers left. So when my motorcycle started blinking, I drove slowly," she said.

This change in driving behavior was spontaneous, considering her previous experience driving a car. The blinking indicator became a warning she was cautious of throughout the route between schools.

2. Distribution of 4 Motorcycles for 5 Children Leaving Together

Zaskia explained that the need for four motorcycles arose because her children's school schedules coincided. For the sake of time efficiency, all family members share the task of taking the children by motorcycle.

"And all of my children's schools leave on time, so we need 4 motorcycles at the same time. I got the last motorcycle, which ran out of gas," she said.

In her daily life, she is indeed used to using a motorcycle for school pick-ups and drop-offs. This division of roles often requires her to alternate vehicles, including when she gets a unit with low fuel.

3. New Lessons and School Drop-off Routine

After the incident, Zaskia sought information about the distance a scooter can travel when the fuel indicator blinks. From her research, she found reassuring data regarding the capabilities of the automatic scooter she used.

"I found out while browsing that the Beat scooter can go 30 to 40 kilometers when the fuel light is blinking, guys, that's quite far. I had only traveled about 4 kilometers, so it's good to know a lot of things," she said.

This experience became an important note for her in carrying out her daily routine as a mother who is actively dropping off and picking up her child from school again. After understanding the travel capacity, she felt more comfortable going about her usual activities.

"So I'm just happy that I can drop off my child at school again like before," she concluded.
