11 Portraits of Dewi Perssik Reveal the Challenges of Pole Dance Action at Indosiar's Anniversary Concert

Dewi explained that the main problem she faced was slippery hands while performing pole dance. This made her have to come down from the pole faster than planned. Nevertheless, she continued her performance professionally.

“Because during practice I shouldn’t be wearing gloves, so that was one time going up, and then I came down again. Well, my hands were slippery, so whether I liked it or not, I had to come down. But still, it’s a show, it must go on, right? We don’t care about whatever happens,” she explained.  

In addition, technical factors such as slippery floors due to stage smoke effects and the pole dance shoes used also posed their own challenges. Although she used the lowest shoes for safety, Dewi admitted she still felt uncomfortable.  

"My pole dance shoes are indeed the most... Not the highest, not the lowest. Those are pole shoes and I already use the lowest ones, so they are a bit slippery, making me feel less safe. But thank God, I mean everything is okay," she continued.

Limited preparations also posed another challenge for Dewi. She only had one day to practice because she had just returned from Japan before the event. Nevertheless, she still gave her best, thanks to the full support from the Indosiar team.

"The condition is that I have to come from Japan. So there hasn't been time for practice. But they at Indosiar are amazing with me. When they provide treatment, they do it thoroughly," said Dewi.

Performing a song while doing pole dance is a big challenge for Dewi. She admitted to having experienced minor injuries like bruises on her body due to the pole dance movements, but that didn’t diminish her enthusiasm to perform at her best.  

“It’s also like that, when it’s opened it’s already bruised, definitely not my knees, not this. But it's okay, because that’s an expensive performance for me. Because I need challenges, and I always accept those challenges,” she said.  

This pole dance performance while singing is not Dewi's first time, but this time she did it live on stage. Her performance received praise from the organizers, including Maria, the Operational Production Director of SCTV and Indosiar.

“Thank God, she said. Earlier, Mrs. Maria said, ‘Dewi, I’m very satisfied,’ while laughing heartily. But hopefully, that satisfaction comes truly from the heart, from her,” Dewi expressed.

Dewi hopes that in the future, Indosiar will continue to entrust other challenging performances to her. For her, challenges like this are proof of commitment to always give the best for loyal viewers.
