Elvy Sukaesih, the Queen of Dangdut, has achieved remarkable success in the music world by receiving a special award at the Indonesian Dangdut Awards (IDA) 2024. 

Upon receiving the award, Elvi expressed her happiness and did not forget to convey her gratitude and hopes to continue seeing dangdut music thrive.

"Alhamdulillah ya Rabb. Until today, I have been given health, able to work for 60 years. Of course, I carry the name of the nation and dangdut in particular. Hopefully, dangdut will continue to thrive because dangdut is Indonesia," said Elvi.

Elvi emphasizes how dangdut music holds a special place in her heart. "It's no less than other songs and music, there are Jazz, pop, koplo, and various others. I express my respect to all the artists," she said.

"I am very proud especially recently I had the opportunity to perform as well. Then yesterday I went again for Jazz Bandung. Alhamdulillah, it's a blessing, but this is all not apart from Allah's decree," said Elvi with deep emotion.

Elvi admits she is just following the path of destiny that has been outlined. "I can only walk, flow like water in the river. I just go along with what I am grateful for, hopefully this brings goodness for me in this world and the hereafter, aamiin."

"And also leaving a good impression for the nation, for dangdut, especially I want to thank the late Habib Zaid who was also a singer, which means he also monitored me when I was recording," he said reminiscing.

Elvi admitted to being happy to receive praise from her family. "And also for my sons and daughters who until now are waiting for me, including my grandchildren who say 'Umi is beautiful' Oh how happy I am. There are great-grandchildren, there are grandchildren," she said proudly.

"And thank you very much Indosiar which means Indosiar has truly uplifted dangdut and also thank you very much to the media who also helped me because without them I would not have become anyone," she added.

Elvi does not forget to express her gratitude to her fans. "Including my fans who love and give affection to me. And I always pray for them too," said Elvi filled with love.

At the age of 72, Elvi is not only known as a dangdut music icon but also as an inspirational figure for young musicians.

Her success over six decades of work has added color to the journey of Indonesian dangdut and has become a source of pride for the next generation.
